1. What is an NFC keychain, and how does it work? An NFC (Near Field Communication) keychain is essentially a smart digital business card that fits on your keyring. It has a tiny, passive microchip embedded inside. When you tap the keychain against a compatible smartphone, it instantly opens your digital profile, contact info, link tree, or website directly on their screen.

2. Does the person I’m sharing with need an app? No! The person receiving your information does not need to download an app. As long as their smartphone is NFC-enabled (which almost all modern phones are), your digital profile will pop up automatically in their web browser just by tapping.

3. Does the keychain require batteries or charging? Nope! NFC technology is completely passive. The chip draws a tiny, temporary amount of power from the smartphone scanning it. There is nothing to charge, and no batteries to replace. It will work indefinitely.

4. What if my contact information changes? Do I need to buy a new keychain? Not at all. Your physical keychain is linked to your digital profile, which you control. If you get a new phone number, update your website, or want to promote a new link, simply log into your free Nerdy Tags app and update your profile. The changes will take effect instantly on your keychain.

5. Are there any monthly software fees or hidden subscriptions? No. Unlike many other smart business card companies, your purchase includes full integration with the Nerdy Tags app (available on iOS & Android) with zero monthly software fees. You buy the customized hardware once, and the software is yours to use.

6. How is my logo printed on the products? We manufacture everything locally in Houston, TX using commercial-grade, direct-to-substrate UV Printing. This ensures your logo is printed in vibrant, high-definition, full color with a durable, scratch-resistant finish. (We also offer premium laser engraving for metal items!).

7. Is it secure? Can the chip access my phone’s data? Yes, it is completely secure. The NFC chip is programmed to do only one thing: share the web link to your digital profile. It cannot "hack" the tapping phone, nor can it access private data, contacts, or payment credentials. You have total control over what information you choose to make public on your digital profile.

8. Will this work on older smartphones? NFC technology is built into almost all modern smartphones (iPhone 7 and newer, and the vast majority of Androids). However, if you happen to meet someone with a very old phone or someone who has NFC disabled, we highly recommend adding a custom QR code to your artwork design as a backup!

9. Can I see what my design will look like before I order? Absolutely. We offer a Test Before You Invest free mockup service. Just upload your logo on our product page, and our prepress design team will send you a complimentary digital PDF proof within 24 hours so you can approve the layout before you spend a dime.

📋 Proofs, Typos, & Production Policies

Will I see what my product looks like before you make it?

Absolutely. Whether you design it yourself using our online app or choose our Full-Service option, we never start production without your explicit approval. If you choose full service, our graphic designer will email you a digital art proof within 1 business day.

What happens if there is a typo on the final product?

Because custom orders cannot be resold or undone, the customer is 100% responsible for verifying the accuracy of all text, spelling, phone numbers, and layouts on the final art proof.

⚠️ Important Approval Policy: Before your order moves to the production floor, you are required to sign a Typo Approval Contract digitally. By signing this contract, you verify that all spelling and layout details are correct. Once signed, our shop cannot be held liable for any typographical errors, and refunds or free reprints will not be issued for user-submitted or approved typos. Please review your proofs carefully!

How fast will my order ship after approval?

Once your digital art proof is approved and the Typo Approval Contract is signed, your order moves straight to our production queue. Your custom items will be completed and ready for pickup or shipping in just 4 business days.
